December 25, 2011 -
Pray for every individual whose life is changed, endangered or lost by acts of violence, hatred and war. Let us follow in the footsteps of Jesus, the Prince of Peace, whose birth brings the hope, the means and the ministry of reconciliation for those who continue in his steps.

January 1, 2012 -
Pray for Gregory M. Howell, Associate Pastor of the PleasantDale Church, who will be licensed to the Gospel Ministry this afternoon at the Topeco Church of the Brethren in Floyd County, Virginia.  Let us pray that we will support, encourage and pray for those who undertake set-apart ministerial service. 

January 8, 2012 -
Pray for Dana B. Cassell, a member of the First Church of the Brethren in Roanoke, Virginia, who begins her service as the Minister of Youth Formation at the Manassas Church of the Brethren in Mid-Atlantic District on January 1, 2012.  Let us listen to hear God’s voice in the lessons which life teaches.

January 15, 2012 -
Pray for Tara Lee Shepherd, a member of the Mount Union Church in Roanoke County, Virginia, as she engages in ministerial formation through Bethany Theological Seminary in Richmond, Indiana.   Let us invest our lives in activities that incarnate the highest ideals of our faith.

January 22, 2012 -
Pray for the Nominating and Personnel Committee of District Conference as they pursue the calling process for district leadership.   Let us pray for the guidance and aid of the Holy Spirit in discerning those called to leadership in the church.

January 29, 2012 -
Pray for Daniel L. Rudy, who began as pastor of the Ninth Street Church in Roanoke, Virginia on November 1st. Let us pray that the congregational, district and denominational ministries of the church might be multiplied and enhanced.   

February 5, 2012 -
Pray for the Virlina District Board, meeting at the Red Oak Grove Church for its winter meeting on February 18, 2012.   Let us pray that the Spirit of God will grant discernment, guide every decision and empower every undertaking.

February 12, 2012 -
Pray for Terry Ray Johnson, who will be installed as pastor of the Troutville Church of the Brethren in Botetourt County, Virginia today.    Let us honor the commitment, dedication and work of those who give freely of themselves to the work of Christ and the church.

February 19, 2012 -
Pray for the Virlina District Pastors and Spouses Retreat, to be held at the Smith Mountain Lake 4-H Center on February 24-25, 2012.    Let us pray that our leaders, our ministers and their families will be refreshed for the work of Christ and the church! 

February 26, 2012 -
Pray for the Lake Side Church of the Brethren, a new church development of the Virlina District, near Moneta, Virginia and their new pastoral family, John and Linda Neff, as they serve together for the glory of God and the good of their community.    Let us give glory to God for the manifold gifts of the Spirit bestowed upon Christ’s church.

March 4, 2012 -
Pray for Pilgrimage XVI: A FaithQuest for Adults, a spiritual development retreat of the Virlina District, to be held on March 16-18, 2012.  Let us pray that God will reward those who seek the divine will with deeper spirituality and greater commitment.

March 11, 2012 -
Pray for Scott Holland, Professor of Theology and Culture and Director of Peace Studies and Cross-Cultural Studies at Bethany Theological Seminary in Richmond, Indiana, as he challenges and nurtures both current and future ministerial leaders. Let us look forward with excitement and enthusiasm to the greater works of God that lie unrevealed in the future.

March 18, 2012 -
Pray for George Cornelius, President of Bridgewater College in Bridgewater, Virginia.  Let us remember that each of us has a ministry and whomever serves in the Body of Christ is important.

March 25, 2012 -
Pray for Wakefield Chapel in Hopewell, Virginia and their pastor, Samuel P. Ellis, who are celebrating their 25th Anniversary as a part of the Church of the Brethren this year.  Let us give thanks to God for the goodly heritage of our denomination and trust the Lord with our future.
